Empowering Patients

A private patient advocate, also known as a patient navigator, case manager, or health consultant provides patients and their families with ongoing, personalized support throughout the healthcare process. They can help patients and their families by:

  • Advocating for rights: Supporting patients' rights, choices, and needs by providing specialized advice and education

  • Coordinating care: Working with other members of the care team to coordinate a patient's care, including medical visits and treatments, and helping to identify needs, resources, and implementing appropriate referrals

  • Health Insurance: negotiate bills and payment plans, identify finance options, assist patients with denials, prior authorizations, and learn the in’s and out’s of your individual health insurance plan.​

Guide to Healthcare

  • Arranging care: Arranging for second opinions or follow-up care

  • Answering questions: Answering questions about therapy, transportation, prescription medications, and more

  • Providing emotional support: Providing emotional support in dealing with health concerns, illnesses, or chronic conditions

  • Educating: Educating patients and their families, and walking patients through the management of their disease or chronic illnesses

  • Assisting with finances: Assisting with health insurance and other financial aspects of healthcare including durably medical equipment, medications, home inspections and modifications​

  • Medical Records: Obtain records, review records , organization, interpretation of medical information, and more
